Catherine Middleton (Kate) as she is fondly called married Prince William this morning at Westminster Abbey, I predicted from the very beginning that the house of Alexander McQueen would design the Royal wedding dress, well the cat is out the bag now as it has been confirmed that indeed Sarah Burton the creative director of the house of McQueen designed the dress, The gown, designed by Burton, is done in modest silk gazar and features a long, intricate Chantilly lace sleeves.
At first I was disappointed with the gown, but now that I have seen every angel of it, I must say I love it, I love the simplicity of it as it is not ostentatious on her part, this speaks volumes. Both Kate and William seem to be a no frills type of couple…I personally love that, like the simplicity of Prince Charles.
From all reports the house of McQueen is being swamped this morning as everyone wants a piece of something from the designer of the Royal wedding dress.
GOOD JOB INDEED SARAH BURTON…
This will be the Biographical look at a former Disco Baby and Fashion Model from the late 1970's to early 1980's...to the present, hope you enjoy the ride as much as I have...

REMEMBERING GIA
Gia Marie Carangi (January 29, 1960 – November 18, 1986) was an American fashion model during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Carangi was considered by some to be the first supermodel although that title has also been given to others, including Janice Dickinson Dorian Leigh, and Jean Shrimpton. Cindy Crawford, who also appeared on the covers of fashion publications during her time, was later referred to as "Baby Gia" due to her resemblance to Carangi
Carangi was featured on the cover of fashion magazines, including Vogue, April 1, 1979; Vogue Paris, April 1979; American Vogue, August 1980; Vogue Paris, August 1980; Italian Vogue, January 1981; and several issues of Cosmopolitan between 1979 and 1982.
After she became addicted to heroin, Carangi's modeling career rapidly declined. She later became infected with HIV and died at the age of 26. Her death was not widely publicized and few people in the fashion industry knew of it. Carangi is thought to be one of the first famous women to die of AIDS. Gia, a biographical film starring Angelina Jolie, debuted on HBO in 1998.

I remember "seeing" Gia once, while standing in the crowd in front of Studio 54 trying to get in. A Limo dropped her off and she just walked straight in...I loved it. It was December of 1978, by then I had only been "in" 54 nine times...not bad for a 17 year old.

BALMAIN SPRING/SUMMER 2011
I LOVE the red American Flag A-shirt...now I do not in any way, rock women's fashion AT ALL...but said to myself, self, you could rock that wife beater...I found it at Bergdorf Goodman's and found it to be "distressed" other words, raggedy as hell, but hey IT IS BALMAIN, so I was thinking t-shirt, 500...without looking at the price tag, I took it to the counter...the sales woman said, that will be 1,517 dollars. I hit the ceiling...you have got to be kidding me? No sir and with your purchase we will have sold out on this Tee. Well, I am sorry to tell you this, but I am not about to spend 1,500 dollars on a raggedy wife beater...I'm sorry! She was so sweet, even wanting her commission she said sir, I fully understand,I personally do not get it. I told her...if I had King Abduallah's money I would not spend 1,500 on a wife beater. ROFLMBO.

RIP BIJAN PAKZAD
He suffered a Stroke Thursday night and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medial Center.
Jimmy Delshad, former two-time mayor of Beverly Hills, confirmed the news via Twitter: "It is with sadness in my heart that I share the terrible news of Bijan passing away. May he rest in peace."
Bijan was a legend in the fashion and perfume biz and designed clothes for movie stars and world leaders. His Rodeo Drive boutique is known as the most expensive store in the world.

GRACE CODDINGTON
Coddington was born on April 14, 1941 to hotelier parents on the island of Anglesey, Wales. Her interest in fashion began in her teens, when she would anxiously await the arrival of a current issue of Vogue magazine, which was at least three months outdated due to the fact that she needed to order it on "Rush-Copy". She lived miles away from any designer shops, so Vogue was her only connection to the fashion world. She says that she loves "the whole sort of chic thing [about Vogue] that was so entirely out of context compared to the lifestyle that [she] led". As a teen, she was pale-skinned and convent-educated and never went anywhere on her holidays, so she just looked at Vogue. Around the age of 17, there was a Vogue model competition, and someone submitted her pictures. She ended up winning the Young Model section. She then began her modeling career for Vogue.
At the age of 26, Grace was in car accident that left her disfigured (she lost her eyelid). She later had plastic surgery to have it reconstructed. Two years after the accident, at the age of 28, she was interviewed by British Vogue's Editor, Beatrix Miller and she was employed as a Junior Editor. After nineteen years as Photo Editor with British Vogue, she moved to New York to work for Calvin Klein. In July 1988, she joined Anna Wintour at American Vogue, where she remains the magazine's creative director.

I ran into Grace last night in Chelsea, and I whispered hi Grace. Grace turned around, stop and smiled and said hello. I wanted to hand her a business card, but I could tell she was heading home so I did not bother her with my blog...
